2020 John Deere 560R Round Hay Baler

The 2020 John Deere 560R Round Hay Baler is a used large round baler designed for agricultural operations that need efficient, high-capacity hay baling. This particular machine has approximately 4,000+/- bales, has had one owner, and is described as being in very nice condition. Its listed configuration includes a 1,000 PTO, wrap system, high-moisture kit, kicker and big tires, making it a practical machine to consider for hay production and commercial or farm-scale baling applications.

The John Deere 560R is part of John Deere’s premium round baler lineup. Manufacturer documentation identifies the 560R as a baler capable of forming round bales from approximately 32 to 72 inches in diameter, depending on configuration. John Deere also lists hydraulic density control, electronic bale-size monitoring, eight DiamondTough belts and MegaWide pickup options among the model’s specifications.

For buyers searching for large round bales of hay equipment, a key advantage of purchasing a baler is the ability to produce your own round hay bales rather than purchasing finished hay. Actual bale weight depends on bale dimensions, crop type, moisture content, density and operating conditions, so there is no single weight that applies to every large round bale.

The 560R can produce substantial bales, with John Deere documentation listing maximum dry-crop bale weight around 2,200 lb and maximum permissible silage bale weight around 2,500 lb, depending on configuration and conditions.

Large Round Hay Bale Questions

How much does a large round bale of hay weigh?

There is no single standard weight. Bale weight varies according to diameter, width, crop, moisture level and density. John Deere documentation for the 560R lists maximum dry-crop bale weight of about 2,200 lb and maximum permissible silage bale weight of about 2,500 lb, depending on configuration and conditions.

How much does a large round bale of hay cost?

The price of a finished large round bale varies considerably according to hay type, quality, bale size, location, season, moisture and local supply. For that reason, buyers should obtain current local pricing rather than relying on a single national figure.

How many large round bales of hay per acre can you produce?

There is no universal number. Yield depends on crop variety, field fertility, rainfall, cutting schedule, growing conditions, bale density and harvesting losses. A producer should calculate expected yield from the specific field rather than using a fixed number.

How many small hay bales are in a large round bale?

The answer depends on the dimensions and density of both bales. A large round bale can represent many small square bales, but there is no fixed conversion because bale weights vary.
